Cures is the brainchild of my daughter and I.
This past spring, Tara was moved by the efforts of a
few of her friends who set up a lemonade stand to
benefit breast cancer research. The stand was set up
in honor of one of her friends' mother, who at the
time was battling breast cancer. Sadly, she lost her
fight in the summer of 2007.
Early
in the school year, her school organized a 5K run to
benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation in her honor.
Tara signed up for the run, and wanted to know what
else she could do to help. We thought that we could
make something to give to friends and family in
exchange for donations, so we
went to our local bead shop. We found some beautiful
glass beads with pink bows, and the idea for our
earrings and other items was born.
We have provided many to friends
and family, and everyone is asking for more. Because
I do marketing for a living, I decided to set up
this website to keep it going. We also have a MySpace page for them at

We
hope you like the items that we are working on. If
all goes well, we will add items throughout the
year, and have a great site to show for Breast
Cancer Awareness month next October!
